Ridgedale Presents "The Taffetas"
Ridgedale High School students will present an encore performance of "The Taffetas" on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, at 7:30 pm at Ohio State Marion's Morrill Hall Auditorium.
It's 1950-something, and Kaye (senior, Victoria Meadows), Peggy (sophomore, Anna Foss), Cheryl (senior, Shelby Greashaber) and Donna (2010 graduate, Kortney Wheeler), four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana are making their national television singing debut. "Spotlight on Music," a fictitious weekly 1950's television show on the real-life Dumont Television Network, sets the framework for an evening of some of the greatest hits of the 1950's.
A tribute to the girl groups of the 1950's, The Taffetas pay tribute to the sounds of The McGuire Sisters, The Fontane Sisters and The Chordettes. Opening Off-Broadway almost two years before "Forever Plaid," The Taffetas made nostalgia what it is today.
The Taffetas will be joined by their three-piece band comprised of Dan Erickson on bass, David Steele on piano and David Johnston on percussion.
Ticket prices are $8.00 adults, $6.00 kids 17 and under, $5.00 seniors 60 and over. Tickets are general admission and can be purchased at the door or by calling Beth Meadows at 740-360-1060.
