Locals Bring Annie Oakley to Life
Star Players, Inc. is pleased to announce the 24 member cast of their 2011 summer musical production, Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, sponsored by The First Citizens National Bank, Marion Technical College, and The Ohio State University at Marion, July 29, 30, & August 5, 6 – 7:30 p.m. and July 31 & August 7, 2 p.m. at the Star Theatre, 121 W. Wyandot Avenue, Upper Sandusky, Oh.
Annie Get Your Gun is the story of Ohio legendary sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her rise to fame with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Romance blossoms between Oakely and expert rifleman Frank Butler. Set in the late 1800s, this classic Broadway musical production has a host of Irving Berlin songs including, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Anything You Can Do,” “I Got the Sun in the Morning,” and “Doin What Comes Natur’lly”.
Annie Get Your Gun cast includes: Bobbi Korte of Upper Sandusky as Annie Oakley, Dewayne Weaver of Kenton as Frank Butler, Ed Griswold of Upper Sandusky as Charlie Davenport, Diane Grossman of Bucyrus as Dolly Tate, Wayne Rowe of Upper Sandusky as Colonel William F. Cody a.k.a. Buffalo Bill, Pat Chitwood of Marion as Pawnee Bill/Mr. Wilson, James Massara of Forest as Chief Sitting Bull, Taylor Weaver of Forest as Minnie, Gabrielle Weaver of Forest as Nellie, Miranda Donnell of Upper Sandusky as Jessi, and Jonah Donnel of Upper Sandusky as Little Jake. Chorus members (in alphabetical order) include: Dillon Barto, Jonathan Fahl, Jackie Gebhardt, Rebecca Gierhart, Angela Massara, Anna Massara, Julia Massara, Alayna Miller, Kaitlin Rowe, Chloe Ulmer, Alexandr Weaver, Brady Weaver, and Raya Weaver.
The show is directed by theatre veteran Scott Persinger of Marion, who is assisted by Wayne Rowe of Upper Sandusky. Thom Richards of Marion serves as vocal director and orchestra conductor. The production crew includes: Kip Barth, stage manager; Monette Cunningham, costumes design; Gary McCreary light design; Kip Barth, Mike Sprang, Jonathan Miller, Jim Ruhlen, Wayne Rowe, and Pat Chitwood, set design.
