Grade Cards for Local Districts Released

Classes just started for schools in Marion County, but it’s already grade card time. The State of Ohio Department of Education released annual district grade cards Wednesday. According to the indicators met, Pleasant is the best district in the county followed up by River Valley, Elgin, Ridgedale (who are basically tied), and then Marion City Schools.

The following are the major scores as a part of the grade cards:

  • Pleasant – Effective – 24 of 26 Indicators – 99.1% Performance Index
  • River Valley – Effective – 23 of 26 Indicators – 96.5% Performance Index
  • Elgin – Effective – 14 of 26 Indicators – 91.3% Performance Index
  • Ridgedale – Continuous Improvement – 14 of 26 Indicators – 88.1% Performance Index
  • Marion City – Continuous Improvement – 6 of 26 Indicators – 85.9% Performance Index

The information sheets released by the state are full of scores and information for each district. They include test results for each subject for separate grade levels as well as break downs based on a variety of factors.
