Illegal Drugs Seized at Two Area Businesses

On Friday, October 21, the MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force conducted two search warrants; one at The South Prospect Street Market, 682 South Prospect Street in Marion, and one at The Caledonia Quick Stop, 533 South High Street in Caledonia. Additional detectives from the Marion City Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office assisted the drug task force.

Undercover detectives with the MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force purchased the controlled substance known as K2 or Spice from both of these locations. Following the purchase of the illegal substance search warrants were served at both locations.

Investigators say over 500 packages of K2/Spice were seized at the South Prospect Street location along with $758.00 in cash. Over 350 packages of K2/Spice were seized from the Caledonia location along with $1127.41 in cash. Investigators say a large amount of drug paraphernalia was also seized from the Caledonia location.

Charges of trafficking and possession of the drug will be submitted to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for subjects at both locations.

The MARMET-METRICH Drug Task Force is made up of detectives from both the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion City Police Department.
