Osmond Brothers Coming to Marion Palace Theatre

The Osmond Brothers bring family-friendly holiday entertainment to the Marion Palace Theatre as Wayne, Merrill and Jay take the stage Friday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. The Osmond Brothers have been performing in front of world-wide audiences for almost 50 years. They have practically lived on a stage, thrilling millions of people with their brand of entertainment.

Performing all styles of music from barbershop, pop, rock, and country, this concert will also feature all your holiday favorites.  Their close harmonies can’t be matched by any other group.

Five decades ago, four young boys were flashed across national television screens on what was meant to be a one-time shot at “the big time.”  That single appearance led to such an overwhelming mail response that for the following seven seasons, the Osmond Brothers became regulars on the Andy Williams Show.

From that point on, their name alone became synonymous with “the big time” and everything associated with it.

They have broken records for sell out performances once held by the Beatles and Elvis, and won numerous awards including the People’s Choice Award, Best Vocal Group and Best Show in Branson, Missouri.

During this era of career growth and development, the Osmonds not only grew up, they grew in scope. They mastered 28 musical instruments, perfected their dance, and learned to handle an audience like pros.

The Osmonds' recording career has been marked by intelligent risks. They stayed current with music trends without sacrificing the individualism that labeled it "Osmond."  The Osmonds knew variety was their key.  They took the best from whatever style they chose and shaped it to fit their talents.

Since embarking on their prestigious recording career, the Osmonds have sold over 77 million records and have accrued more than 30 gold records.

Marion audiences have proven to enjoy a well-known celebrity holiday performance and this season brings back a name already proven to be a winner with Palace patrons, according to Interim Executive Director Bev Ford.

“In December 2006, Marie Osmond took the stage for a holiday concert that thrilled the audience.  Since that time, patrons have requested a return to an Osmond Christmas.  This year, we’re pleased to fulfill that request by bringing three of Marie’s brothers to provide a wonderful concert experience featuring many of the songs they’re known for, as well as holiday entertainment.”

Tickets for The Osmond Brothers’ Christmas Show are on sale now for $28/$25/$22.  They may be purchased at the Palace box office, 276 W. Center St. in downtown Marion or by phone at 740/383-2101.  College rush tickets will be available in the box office one hour prior to show time at a cost of $10 each (limit two; Valid Student photo ID required at time of purchase).  Box office hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and closed Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.  Information for all shows and tickets is also online at www.marionpalace.org.  Ohio Mutual Insurance Group sponsors this holiday celebration.
