Richwood Resident Running for Ohio House

Cheryl Johncox recently announced that she has filed the paperwork to be a candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives as a Democrat. After hearing from elected officials and community members about the devastating effects the state budget is having on Union County, the city of Marion and townships and villages across the state, Cheryl felt compelled to act.

“I am concerned that Ohioans are losing freedoms at an unprecedented rate.” Johncox said, “Small communities are being stripped of their rights to allocate and govern locally-generated resources.  This trend towards consolidation worries me, because the farther away your government is, the harder it is for them to hear you.”

Cheryl and her family make their home in Richwood. "I love the strong sense of community and values - hard work, living within one's means, and priorities.  I want to bring these values to the statehouse."
