Budget Cuts Cause Changes to Sheriff Services

Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey has announced a change in the location and hours of operation for Webcheck background checks and for processing Ohio Conceal Carry License applications.

Starting on December 19th, 2011, Webchecks and CCL applications will be conducted at the sheriff’s office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Currently both services are offered Monday through Friday at the Marion County Building. Sheriff Bailey says that while these services will still be offered to the public, the recent budget cuts and the upcoming lay-offs of deputies require the restricted days and hours.
