Herman’s Hermits Returning to Palace Theatre
Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone bring their piece of the British invasion to the Marion Palace Theatre Friday, January 13 at 8:00 p.m. Peter Noone has long been a Palace patron favorite. Back for a reprise performance of his 2004 visit, this leader of the British invasion is one of the most recognized pop stars from the 1960s.
At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as “Herman,” lead singer of the legendary Sixties pop band Herman’s Hermits. Ultimately, Herman’s Hermits sold over sixty million recordings. In all, fourteen singles and seven albums went gold. The Hermits were twice named Cashbox’s “Entertainer of the Year.”
With 24 Gold Hits and over 51 million records sold worldwide, Peter’s fans span 3 generations. His hits include I’m Into Something Good, Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, There’s A Kind Of Hush, Leaning On The Lamp Post, and I’m Henry VIII, I Am.
Born in Manchester, England, Noone’s entertaining career began early. As a child, he played Stanley Fairclough in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street. He was also featured in the television series Knight Errant, Family Solicitor and Monro’s Saki Stories.
Over the decades, Peter Noone has continued to impress on the theatrical stage, giving commanding performances throughout Great Britain, on Broadway and around the globe. He has also guest starred on numerous television shows; most recently in the recurring role of Paddington on the CBS daytime drama, As The World Turns.
Executive Director Bev Ford experienced the fun of a Peter Noone show during his previous concerts at the Palace.
“Peter Noone is an iconic performer with a dedicated fan base. However, those weren’t the only people in the audience excited about his performance. Peter is an exceptional entertainer. He genuinely engages his audiences, and they love him for it. In terms of a fun show, his ranks at the top of the list.”
