The Marion Police Department says a woman was killed early Wednesday evening in a shooting. Police dispatchers say they received a frantic phone call at 5:22pm on February 8, reporting the shooting at 617 Bartram Avenue.

Officers responded to the residence where they found a deceased female who had been shot. Information was obtained that a gunman had entered the residence, shot the victim, and then fled the scene.

The victim was later identified as Amy Lynn Aldrich, 30, of Paulding County, Ohio. Media reports have said she used to live in Marion.

The father of the victim’s child, Bo Cook, 25, was later held by police on unrelated charges.

“This death is being investigated as a homicide and no one has been charged in relation to the death as of this time,” stated Major Bill Collins.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and the Marion Police Department are continuing to investigate the shooting and say that no further information is currently being released.
