Stark Wins Coveted Gates Scholarship

Brielle C. Stark, the 2008 Salutatorian of Buckeye Valley High School, has been accepted for postgraduate studies at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England, as a Gates Scholar.

Gates/Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding students from outside the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge.

Currently completing her undergraduate studies at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, Brie will pursue a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences, focusing on clinical neurorehabilitation following trauma. She spent her third year away from Bryn Mawr studying abroad at Oxford University where she coxed the 1st Men's Boat Rowing team at St. Anne's College of Oxford.

Stark has also been an active volunteer on the local and national level in the American Red Cross Youth Council and a strong advocate for disability and awareness.

Brie is the daughter of Deb and Treg Stark of Ashley and the granddaughter of Mrs. Peggy Caserta of Marion.
