Band to Present Almost Spring Program

The Marion Concert Band will present its annual “almost spring” program on Sunday, February 26 at 3:00pm at the Palace Theatre. General admission is $5 with children 10 and under admitted for free.

The program will present a variety of musical genres, including:  Marches, two by Sousa, one of them was his last and was “lost” for 64 years and never titled; highlights from Broadway, the Fantastics with “Try to Remember” and selections from “Cats”; Nostalgia – “Rock and Roll Explosion” with eight popular songs circa 1960 – “Rock Around the Clock”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Surfin’ USA”; Swing – “Benny Goodman” includes “One O’clock Jump” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”; and Special Features – clarinet section playing “Clarinet Candy” and “O Waly, Waly” with three English folk songs.
