Deadline Nearing to Apply for Homestead Tax Exemption
|Marion County Auditor, Joan Kasotis, is reminding Marion County taxpayers that the deadline for applying for both real estate and manufactured home tax savings through the Homestead Program is Monday, June 4, 2012.
Marion Unemployment Rate Lowest Since November 20008
|The unemployment rate for Marion County dipped a half percent in April 2012 to 7.9 percent down from 8.4 percent in March. The rate is at its lowest point since it stood at 7.7 percent in November 2008. A month later, the rate jumped to double digits where it remained for 28 months and reached a high of 12.4 percent.
