Donald Dale James, 68, of Marion

Donald Dale James, age 68, of Marion passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.

Born in Marion County on June 15, 1944, he was the 9th son of the late Everett Harry and Beulah Mae (Pierce) James.

He married the former Betty Fradd on July 23, 1969 and she survives at home.

Donald was a welder at Marion Power Shovel until the time that they closed their doors. Cooking was a passion of his and he cooked many meals for the Marion Triangle Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at McDonald’s and was a frequent traveler to Amish Country.

Donald was preceded in death by 6 brothers; Everett Jr., Charles (Fats), Harley, James (Jimmie), Jesse and Franklin and 1 sister; Mary Ann. Surviving along with his wife is his son; Ronald Dale James, 3 grandchildren; Waylon, Levi and Samantha, 4 brothers; Richard (Gene & Pat), William (Betty), Robert (Trish) and Kenneth (Debbie) and a sister-in-law; Sue James. He will be sadly missed by all of his many friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Friday at Noon at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd Radebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home.
