Randy Lee Ball, 58, of Marion

Randy Lee BallRandy Lee Ball, age 58, of Marion and formerly of Mount Gilead, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 30, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born on February 19, 1956, to the late Hamp Ball Jr. and Evelyn M. (Hedrick) Ball Foster, in Mount Gilead.

Randy worked for Dana Corporation for 33 years as a tow motor and machine operator. After retiring from Dana, he worked for Lowes and Penske.

Some of Randy’s interests included fishing, gardening, and riding his motorcycle with his riding buddies: Dwight and Roger Mattix, and the late John Hedrick who was not only a friend but a cousins as well. His biggest treasures in life were his red Ford Ranger and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Randy always made sure the truck and motorcycle were clean and looking brand new at all times. Though some may say the truck and motorcycle were his first loves, his true love was for his family and friends. He cherished time spent with his daughters and grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his wife, Linda Ball, whom he married December 1, 2000; daughters: Lisa Ball and Khristi (Pat) Sharrock; mother, Evelyn Foster; four brothers: Steve (Kathy) Ball, Larry (Dianne) Ball, Tim and Sonny Ball; grandchildren; Ryan, Mathew, Nathan, Kaiden, Dylan, Brayden and Kyleigh; stepsons: Jerry Fish, and Chris (Jamie) Fish; step grandchildren: Jordan, Kyle and Emmalee; and nieces: Angela, Adrean and Lindy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hamp.

A private services for family and friends will be held a later date.
