Twila B. Holliday age 94 of Marion, Ohio formerly of Sandusky, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Kingston Residence of Marion.
She was born July 8, 1920 in Richwood, Ohio to the late Wortha and Anna (Mannasmith) Wood.
Twila graduated from Larue High School in 1938, where she played girls basketball for Larue under the direction of Madge Cooper.
On April 12, 1959 she married Homer E. Holliday, he preceded her in death on March 14, 1991.
During WWII she worked at the ordenance pant making ammunition, after the war she worked for Arro Bolt Expansion and retired for Sandusky School System as a cook for several years.
She is survived by her son, Marion (Mary Ellen) Delaney of Groveport, Oh., step-children, Gary (Linda) Holliday of Marion, Oh., Beth McFann of Marion, Oh., Judi (Michael) Hughes of Marion, Oh., three grandchildren, Karen Gerard, Kathie Kulish, Shari Gallager, ten additional grandchilden, fourteen great grandchildren, nieces, Jeri Huskins of Tn., Joyce Lupica of Marion, Oh., nephews, Roland Wood of Richwood, Oh., Lanny Hulse of Marion, Oh., Barney Jay Hulse of Ca., and close family friend, Jeanne Delaney of Chagrin Falls, Oh.
Twila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Vernon Wood, three sisters, Starling Smith, Viola Kohbarger and Ava Hulse.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 from 2 – 3 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 8, 2014 at 3 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
