Denton Lee Ruth, age 68, of Marion, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.
Denton was born on September 28, 1946 in Marion, the son of the late Don Denton and Bettie Ann (Creviston) Ruth. He graduated from the Harding High School.
He entered to the United States Army and proudly served and defended his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he was a loyal employee at the original Eaton Corporation, serving more than 30 years.
Denton enjoyed many hobbies over his lifetime. He was a collector of many items over the years; he enjoyed building things, had a great fondness for lighthouses and was a lover of history. Denton had a very big heart and a generous spirit that poured into the Marion community by donating to numerous charities. Above all, he loved and cherished his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his beloved grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters: Laura (Craig) Carey and Aimee (Lane) Warner both of Marion; his grandchildren: Hannah Ruth-Loya, Hudson Warner, Wingate Carey and Courtney Warner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 3PM to 6PM; Memorial services will be held on Saturday at the Prospect St. United Methodist Church, 185 South Prospect St., Marion at 9:30AM; Inurnment will follow at Marion Cemetery with Military Honors being observed.
If so desired, donations may be made to the family to provide funds to the Pleasant Township Park and the Tall Grass Trails of Marion.
