Part 4. Hey! This Wasn’t In the Script!

God has been doing miraculous things in the womb. He’s been busily getting a tiny cherub ready for life in the world beyond, but the wee one must be protected in the most secure spot imaginable until that day arrives, .the mother’s womb.  What could be safer than that?

The Creator has taken the maximum care to make sure this tiny bit of humanity is secure by keeping him a secret, even from her body.  Should the body have any inkling that he is there, the body will eject him as a foreign object.  He is not, and never was, a part of his mother’s body.  Only his unfertilized egg was that.  He became a unique individual when that egg became fertilized, and his own life began.  He boasts his own DNA, blood type, gender (sometimes he is a boy), and everything else that makes him what he is.  He must be protected from his mother’s body – or die.  The only link he has with her is the feeding tube.  His blood stream must not be joined with hers, or her body will eject him.  Thus God has provided a bit of subterfuge to see that that does not happen.  Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations (Jer.1:5).

It took a bit of time, but the forces that would destroy this tiny new person finally changed the script.  Instead of a haven of security, the womb would become more perilous than the streets of Baghdad.

This time, just as in the Garden of Eden, the woman was approached, deceived, and deliberately lied to, until she consented both herself and her child to destructive forces of evil, which are intelligent, strong, wily and haters of God, Whom they wish to destroy, as well, if they only could.

There are subtleties in their methods.  One lady argued that the child feels no pain.  In the first place, that’s false. He does feel pain, at least, as early as six weeks. However, since when has feeling pain ever been an issue that determines whether killing is right or wrong?  He is a human being, and is entitled to all the rights and privileges of any other human being.

Another comment is:  I cannot bring a child into the world when I cannot take proper care of him.  He is already in the world.  He is very much alive; he turns somersaults, he sleeps; he eats, he hears, he cries; he is sad; he is glad; he sucks his thumb; he hears; he senses.  It goes on and on.  He is a person, ordained by God, for great service.

How can a just God allow one of the most innocent and vulnerable of all His creation to be dealt the deathblow?  Perhaps it would be better to question those who deal that blow, calling it compassion, or family planning.  It is what it is – killing, and God will hold them accountable.  He takes care of His own.

The baby, however, is not the only victim; but more on that later.
