Footprints (A football analogy)
10-13-2009 9:37 am

While at Catalyst, Dave Ramsey shared a thought that I wanted to pass on (no pun intended) ….

A clip was shown of a NFL football player going up for an important and what appeared to be an easy catch. At the last minute, he turned his head to look at the approaching defensive player, dropped the ball, and then took a bone crunching hit. When he was asked later why he dropped the ball, he said he was thrown when he heard the footsteps of his opponent.

I pray that you’re in the game right now. If you are, there is an opposing team who is on your heals. My guess is, there are some things in your life that are fighting against you. In other words, you’re probably hearing the footsteps of your opponent all around you.

You may never feel that hit. Most of the time, you hear the footsteps but are not touched. However, let’s be honest, the hit sometimes comes. However, we place too much focus on that element of the equation. The question is this, will you catch the ball?

“There is going to be a day when history is redefined as it actually is…. play your part well.” Matt Chandler

“…we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.” Hebrews 10: 39b
