Police Make Arrest in Drive Thru Burglary

The Marion Police Department made an arrest in an alleged burglary at a drive thru over the weekend.

Officers were flagged down just before midnight on Saturday, April 2, by people who told them that Dino’s Drive Thru, 810 Davids Street, had been burglarized. Other officers converged on the scene and discovered that an undisclosed amount of money had been allegedly taken.

Investigators say they developed a suspect, but were unable to locate the individual right away. On Sunday, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence in Marion County with the help of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, Billie Waddell, III, was located at the residence along with his girlfriend.

The pair was questioned at the police department. The girlfriend was released, but Waddell, age 15, was arrested on charges of burglary and felony theft.

The case was forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
