Child Abuse and Neglect Training Offered

The public is invited to participate in a free training course that focuses on child abuse and neglect warning signs, the investigation process, and the laws surrounding it on August 9th from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

The goals are to create awareness in the community and to contribute to the protection of abuse & neglected children.

There are two types of training available.

  • A shorter 3 hr. session from 9am-12pm – Typically what people from the public really want to know; Why the agency is or isn't intervening, what constitutes abuse and when someone should call in reports of suspected abuse.
  • A more detailed 6 hr. session from 9am-4pm- Typically for day care providers and others who work with children on a regular basis.

All trainings are held at Marion County Children Services and are conducted by the Intake/Investigations Supervisor and/or Staff.

Please call the agency to register at 740-389-2317 or visit our website for more information www.marionkids.com.
