Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 South Prospect Street, Marion, is holding a Gentle Worship Service on Sunday, August 28, at 1:30pm. This worship service is for families with individuals who are challenged by special needs, including down syndrome, the hearing and/or visually impaired, autism, etc.
This is the first of these services which will be offered on the fourth Sunday of each month.
It will be a thirty-minute service designed to encourage congregants to be themselves-no shushing permitted. The service will follow traditional Lutheran worship form but in simplified fashion: confession and forgiveness, scripture, message, creed, prayer, communion, quiet music and songs.
