Wanda “Sue” Moore Pennington Garey, 62, of Marion

Wanda “Sue” Moore Pennington GareyWanda “Sue” Moore Pennington Garey, age 62, of Marion, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at her home following an unexpected heart attack.

On November 7, 1951, Sue was born in Ashland, Kentucky, one of eleven children of the late Eligie D. and Essie May (Cantrell) Moore.

In 1969, Sue moved to Marion, to be near to the most important part of her life…her family.  She cherished every moment spent with her beloved family, and she was part of the glue that held everyone together.  Despite having an extremely large family, Sue tried to keep in contact with all of them.

Having a heart of gold, Sue was a completely selfless woman, who always put the needs of others before her own.  She even enjoyed volunteering at food pantries.

When Sue wasn’t on the phone with her family, she enjoyed crocheting blankets to give as gifts for her grandchildren.  She also loved to play Bingo!

She will be dearly missed by her four daughters: Linda (Greg) Smith, April (Steve) Simon, Jenny Butler and Leslie (Chad) Mitchell; 12 grandchildren: Scott (Meghan) Jr., Cassandra and Rusty Stoll, Nathan and Nicolas Simon, Shawna, Trea, Jorden, Savanah and Haley Butler, and Janie and Lance Mitchell; two great-grandchildren: Gaven and Zander Stoll; one brother, Ray (Marilyn) Moore of Marion; three sisters: Ollie Bass, Mandy Dunn, and Diane (John) Jones, all of Marion; numerous nieces and nephews; and by her beloved aunt, Rosie Cantrell of Columbus, who helped raise her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Bill, Clyde, Robert, George, Adam and Don Moore; and by her sister, Kathern Allen.

Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.  Services honoring her life will also be held there on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., with Opal Collinsworth and Clifford Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve Sue’s family and your private condolences may be expressed to them by visiting www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
