Keith A. Kochheiser, 63, of Marion

Keith A. KochheiserKeith A. Kochheiser, age 63, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 1:32 p.m. in the Ohio State University Medical Center East, Columbus.

He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on June 5, 1950 to the late Robert E. and Frances E. (Gross) Kochheiser.

Keith served his country in the U.S.Navy from 1972-1978 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an attorney in Marion County for over 30 years.

Keith graduated Cum Laude in 1972 from Ashland University with a B.S.Degree and went on to obtain his Law Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1977. While in college, he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and a Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary.

While working in Marion, Keith was a member of the Marion County Bar Association serving as President from 2000-2001, Ohio State Bar Association Executive Committee 1987-1990, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, American Academy of Trial Lawyers, Former Fellow, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Ohio Chapter. He also served as President of Marion City Council from 2000-2004. Keith has also been a member of the Marion Harding High School Football Athletic Booster Club for over 20 years and for many years played percussion for the Marion City Band.

He loved, supported, and served his community and will be sadly missed by many family, friends, colleagues, & community members.

Keith is survived by 3 daughters; Amber N. Steiner, Susan L. Rosebrough, & Lindsay M. (Tim) Harrison all of Marion, Oh., 11 grandchildren, his girlfriend; Linda Bowen and her children; Linsey & James, an aunt; Margaret Hammett of Mansfield, Oh., and a sister-in-law; Pauline Kochheiser of Mansfield, Oh. He was preceded in death by a brother; Bruce E. Kochheiser.

Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
