Turkey Trot Part of Healthy Living Effort in Marion

The first annual "Creating Healthy Communities-Turkey Trot” will be held on the campus of The Ohio State University-Marion and Marion Technical College on Friday, November 19th, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.

All members of the community are invited to attend. Special awards will be given to all members of the “Marion On the Move” Eight Week Walking Challenge and the event which will count toward the 2010 “Your Plan For Health” incentive points for OSUM employees.

This one-mile community walking event is free, however donations of canned fruits and vegetables are encouraged and will be given to the Marion ACT (A Community Together) program to nourish those in-need this holiday season. All registered participants will be entered into a drawing to win a free turkey, just in time for the holidays. Other prizes will be available.

This event is sponsored by the “Creating Healthy Communities” and “Marion On The Move” programs through the Marion Public Health Department, and co-sponsored by The Ohio State University at Marion, Marion Technical College, Marion ACT program and the Marion Family YMCA.
