Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Tuesday at 5:35 am. The crash occurred on State Route 4 south of Barks Road in Marion County.

The Patrol says Ok H. George, age 59, of Marion, was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata northbound on State Route 4. James E. Endsley, age 47, of Marion, Ohio, was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer southbound on State Route 4. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle driven by George struck a deer that was attempting to cross the road from east to west. The deer went through the driver’s windshield. The George vehicle then drove left of center striking the vehicle driven by Endsley.

Both drivers were transported to Marion General Hospital. James Endsley was later flown by Med Flight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The crash remains under investigation.
