Sheriff Announces Increased Traffic Safety Enforcement

Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey announced his office will be participating in a countywide traffic detail targeting speed and alcohol related violations for the upcoming holidays. Deputies will be conducting extra traffic enforcement and patrol now through New Years day.

The sheriff's office has received a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Governor's Highway Safety Office specifically for overtime traffic enforcement. These monies enable officers to work extra overtime hours during various dates throughout the year to curb impaired driving, speed, and seatbelt violations.

Deputies will be patrolling all local state routes, county and township roads, and village streets for these violations and will have a zero tolerance during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, and other high traffic holidays throughout the year.
