Early Voting Starts Today

Absentee voting for the March 6, 2012 Primary Election is now in progress at the Marion County Board of Elections office, 222 West Center Street, during regular hours. In person absentee voting ends at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 2.

The Board of Elections office will remain open on Friday, March 2 until 6:00 pm for any person wishing to vote absentee. There will be no absentee voting on Saturday, March 3 or Monday, March 5.

The regular hours for the board office are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday and Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

A request for an absentee may also be submitted in writing to the Board of Elections office office 222 West Center Street, Marion, OH 43302. Request forms are also available at the Board office or online at www.marionelections.com.

Requests must be signed by the voter, and must provide the birth date and one of the following.

  • Voters Ohio driver’s license number,
  • or the last 4 digits of voters’ social security number.
  • or a current and valid photo identification, a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows  your name and address.
  • No phone, emailed or faxed requests are accepted. 

Voters hospitalized on Election Day because of medical emergency may apply for absentee ballots until 3:00 p.m. election day.

Absentee ballots, other than out of country must be received by the board by 7:30 pm election day.

Out of the country civilian and uniformed services absentee ballots must be received by the board no later March 16.
