Marion Tech Offers My PC Classes

Marion Technical College has announced its participation in Microsoft Corp.’s My PC Series, a continuing education program designed to support baby boomers and other adult students who want to learn new computer skills for home or work.

Based on curriculum provided by Microsoft, MTC says the My PC Series takes a unique, jargon-free approach to teaching a variety of “getting started” PC topics. The program consists of short, hands-on workshops covering PC fundamentals such as navigating Windows 7 and using free Windows Live tools for photo editing, social networking and more, as well as some more in-depth classes for home and business users. Students will be taught in hands-on labs on PCs newly converted to Windows 7, Microsoft’s latest operating system. This partnership is a testament to Marion Technical College’s commitment to offering the most relevant personal enrichment opportunities to adult learners in the community.

The following courses are offered at Marion Technical College:  My PC:  Getting Started with Windows 7; Creative Photo Slideshows Workshop; Connecting with Friends and Family; Digital Photo Editing; and Computer Security Seminar. Complete information on the classes can be found at www.mtc.edu.

"The My PC Series by Microsoft offers an easy platform for adult students to brush up on their computer skills in a fun and easy way,” said Jay McCreary, Director of Marion Technical College’s Workforce Development.
