Early Voting Ends Friday

Due to changes to Ohio election law enacted by state legislators, absentee voting days and hours have changed. In person absentee voting now ends at 6:00pm on Friday, November 4. There will be no absentee voting on Saturday, November 5 or on Monday, November 7.

The Marion County Board of Elections office will remain open on Friday, November 4 until 6:00pm for any person wishing to vote absentee.

Absentee voting for the November 8, 2011 General Election is now in progress at the Board of Elections office, 222 West Center Street, during regular hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, or on Friday until 6:00pm.

A request for an absentee may also be submitted in writing to the Board of Elections office. Request forms are available at the Board office or online at www.marionelections.com. Request must be signed by the voter, and must provide the birth date and one of the following.     

  • Voters Ohio driver’s license number,
  • or the last 4 digits of voters’ social security number.
  • or a current and valid photo identification, a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows  your name and address.
  • No phone, emailed or faxed requests are accepted. 

Voters hospitalized on Election Day because of medical emergency may apply for absentee ballots until 3:00pm on Election Day. 

Absentee ballots, other than out of country must be received by the board by 7:30pm on Election Day. Out of the country civilian and uniformed services absentee ballots must be received by the board no later November 18.
