Theresa M. Kinney, age 80, of Marion, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, October 4, 2012, at the Marion General Hospital following a courageous three year battle with cancer.
On January 29, 1932, Theresa was born in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Cecelia (Nowaczyk) Szymanski.
For many years in Toledo, she worked in a bakery. After moving to Marion in 1974, Theresa later worked at East Lawn Manor in their laundry department for over twenty years until her retirement.
An avid walker, Theresa knew no boundaries. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, watching movies, and bowling in her younger days. She loved shopping, and especially finding a good deal.
Having a fun loving personality, Theresa was quite the cut up always getting everyone to laugh.
Most important of all to Theresa was her family, as she loved spending time with beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed her many friends at Chadwick Place.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Jodi (Phil) Adams of Marion; two grandchildren: Tyler and Kayla Kinney; a step-daughter, Dee Beveridge; a step-grandson, Jason Lawhun, both of Georgia; two brothers: Richard (Patty) Szymanski, and George Szymanski, both of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
Services honoring Theresa’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at her graveside in Marion Cemetery, with Father Dwayne McNew officiating.
