16 Fire Departments Battle Egg Farm Blaze

A fire at an egg farm blazed throughout the night just north of Marion County. An Ohio Fresh Egg Farm warehouse caught fire just before 11:00pm last night and continued to burn Wednesday morning.

At least 16 different departments, including crews from Marion County, were on the scene with some coming from as far away as Delaware County.

The fire is contained, but fire officials say items inside the warehouse, including egg cartons, could continue to burn for hours if not days. The farm is located on Dry Lane Road in Marseilles.

Water had to be hauled from two sites near the farm, and a wall eventually had to be knocked down for firefighters to reach the source of the fire.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
