Esther L. Porter age 97 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at her residence.
She was born May 21, 1915 in Marion, Ohio to the late Earl and Caroline (Spiedel) Griffith.
On May 14, 1934 she married Maurice E. Porter, they were married 71 years, he preceded her in death in 2005.
Esther was a Long time member of Wesley Methodist Church and was attending Calvary Bible Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dixie (Jack) Murray of Kenton, Oh., Barbara Rech of Marion, Oh., five grandchildren, Jack Murray II of Georgia, Kim (Bart) Carroll of Oregon, Jody (Craig) Lackey of Marion, Oh., Tammy Mason of Marion, Oh., Angela Castanien of Marion, Oh., fourteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother, Robert (Judy) Griffith of Marion, Oh., one sister, Melba “Winnie” Pask of Marion, Oh., nephews, David (Carol) McPherson of Marion, Oh., Robert “Chubby” (Beth) Porter of Michigan.
Esther was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Rech and great grandson, Jaclyn Mason.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 @ 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd Radebaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery
