In observation of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Marion Public Health will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 22nd and 23rd. The closing will affect all divisions of the Marion Public Health including the Administrative, Vital Statistics, Environmental Health, Nursing, Emergency Preparedness, and WIC divisions.

Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that offices in City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving holiday.
As a result of City Hall offices being closed on Friday, the weekly early closure day will be observed on Wednesday, November 21st. Therefore, City offices will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st, with the exception of the Municipal Court Office, which will close at 12:00 p.m.
The City of Marion Sanitation and Streets Department will not collect trash, recycling, yard waste, or leaves on Thursday, November 22nd. Refuse collection will resume on Friday, November 23rd with crews collecting both Thursday and Friday’s refuse. Leaf collection will also resume on Friday. Residents may rake leaves to the tree lawn area to be vacuumed; place the leaves in biodegradable paper bags for City pickup; or take biodegradable paper bagged leaves to the free drop off site at 560 Barks Rd. W. (Park Enterprise Construction). There is no charge for the leaf drop off; however, proof of City residence is required.
Marion Area Transit buses will not operate on Thursday, November 22nd or Friday, November 23rd. Normal bus service will resume on Monday, November 26th.
Marion Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd. The Senior Center will re-open for regular business on Monday, November 26th.
The Marion County Building and Marion County Courthouse will be closed both Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd.
