Roderick Davie had a friendly chat with his co-worker, William John Everett, at a coffee shop in 1991. A week later, Davie murdered two other employees at a pet supply company, shot Everett in the head and tried to run him over with a truck.
A story from the AP says, Davie confessed to shooting Everett and John Coleman at a warehouse near Youngstown from which he had been fired months before. When he ran out of bullets, he beat 21-year-old Tracey Jefferys to death with a metal folding chair.
Nineteen years later, Davie asked Everett and the victims' families to forgive him, moments before he died by lethal injection on Tuesday.
He was the seventh person executed in Ohio this year, tying a record the state set in 2004.
