Sondra Kaye “Sandy” Murphy age 70 of Marion passed away on December 7, 2012 at Regency Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on January 9, 1942 to Robert Voe and Virginia Mae (McMorrow) Murphy in Marion.
Sandy worked at Sears in the Southland Mall in Marion for over 40 years. Before that she worked at G.C. Murphys in downtown Marion. She was a lifelong resident of Marion.
Sandy loved her family. She is survived by her cherished mother Virginia Mae Cross of Marion, and her brothers Robert “Mike” (Betsy) Murphy of Estes Park, CO., and William “Pat” (Ann) Murphy of Prospect. She is also survived by her Nieces and Nephews, Thom Murphy of Mansfield, Colleen Layne of Prospect, Tonya Kardosh of Burbank CA., several great Nieces and Nephews, and several step Nieces and Nephews. She will also be missed by her lifelong friends Barb Daly and Peggy Kalfas.
Sandy was preceded in death by her Stepfather Carl T. Cross and her maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Dale McMorrow and her paternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Harley Murphy.
Sandy was a 1960 graduate of Harding High School in Marion. She was a life long member of Trinity Baptist Church. She also enjoyed collecting designer dolls and Cleveland Indians memorabilia. She also enjoyed meeting with friends at the Southland McDonalds and the Marion Diner for breakfast.
At her request there will be no calling hours, burial will be in Chapel Heights at a later date.
