Gloria E. Beamer (Stevens) of Nevada, Ohio , passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012. She was 82 years old.
She was born on October 9, 1930 in Marion, Ohio to Violet L. (Jones) Himmenger (Stevens) and Donald A. Stevens.
She was raised by her mother & (Daddy) George A. Himmenger on their farm outside of Nevada, Ohio.
Her parents, a brother, George J. Himmenger, and her sister, Harlena (Himmenger) Wertz preceded her in death.
In 1949, she married Dale E. Beamer.
Surviving are her 2 sons, Daniel (Vicki) Beamer of Nevada, Ohio, Sam (Dirinda) Beamer of Toledo, Ohio, and 1 daughter, Kathy (Ray) Hansgen of Columbus, Ohio. Gloria had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed music and dancing growing up. Later on, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and working with her children in Boy Scouts, 4-H Clubs (California & Ohio) where she won State of Ohio Blue Ribbon for her peanut brittle, but she was noted for her fried chicken and wedding cakes. She retired from The Toledo Hospital after 18 years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home and will be officiated by Rev. Dwight Hord. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM also at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Marion Cemetery.
