Marion Palace Theatre Showing Life of Pi

The Marion Palace Theatre will show the film Life of Pi on January 18 and 20, 2013. The film has received rave reviews and is nominated for 11 Academy nominations including Best Picture and Best Director.

Based on the best-selling novel by Yann Martel, Life of Pi is a magical adventure story centering on Pi Patel, the precocious son of a zoo keeper. Dwellers in Pondicherry, India, the family decides to move to Canada, hitching a ride on a huge freighter. After a shipwreck, Pi finds himself adrift in the Pacific Ocean on a 26-foot lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan and a 450-pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker, all fighting for survival.  This film is rated PG for emotional thematic content throughout, and some scary action sequences and peril and runs for 127 minutes.

Life of Pi will play at the Marion Palace Theatre Friday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $4/Adults, $3/Seniors (62 & over), $2/Children (12 and under).
