Margaret J. Obenour age 94 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1918 in Larue, Ohio to the late William Ira and Iona Blanche (Smith) Kirkpatrick.
On March 16, 1935 in New Port, Ky., she married Myron Glenn Obenour, he preceded her in death on January 27, 1988.
Margaret was the jail matron for Marion from 1952-1968 when her husband, Myron Glenn Obenour was Sheriff. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, anything from magazines, books and newspapers to keep up on current events.
She is survived by her two children, Richard K. (Charlotte K.) Obenour of Marion, Oh., Janis K. (Edward) McNabb of Eldon, Mo., four grandchildren, William Obenour, Judy (David) Strayer, Sean (Christie) McNabb, Erron (Shirley) McNabb and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her grandson, Allen Obenour.
There will be no services at this time, burial will take place at Otterbein Cemetery at a later date. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
