Jean Odessa Gruver, age 84, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2013 at 12:30PM at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on June 27, 1928 in Marion, Ohio, to Earl and Edna Pearl (Plotner) Lane, Sr.
On March 8, 1947 she was married to the love of her life, Richard E. Gruver in Marion, Ohio. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1994.
Jean was a proud homemaker all of her life.
Jean was the loving mom to Linda (Wayne) Mayer of Marion, Susan Norris and Teresa (Steve) Carlson, both of Florida; Grandmother to Toye (Charles) Leeper, Stacey Graver, Todd (Jennifer) Mayer, Bryan (Kim) Mayer, Jason Norris, Andrea, Ryan, Nathan and Jason Carlson; Great grandmother of 16; great great grandmother of 3; Sister of Donnie, Bob, Gerald, Floyde, Esther, Nellie and Iona (Onie).
Jean is preceded in death her husband; parents; a brother Earl, Jr.; sisters: Evelyn and Pearl; and a very special aunt, Anna Mae.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 2PM to 5PM; Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10AM with Pastor Keith Irey officiating. Burial will be in the Claridon Cemetery.
