The Marion Public Library is accepting nominations to fill a vacancy on its Board of Trustees. The new trustee will be appointed to complete a term that ends December 31, 2015.
Criteria for Trustees include:
- commitments to the mission and goals of the Marion Public Library
- readiness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort to duties
- recognition of the library’s importance as a community center of information
- active participation in community affairs
- commitment to intellectual freedom
The Library Board will recommend an individual to the appointing authority, the Marion City Board of Education. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and a resume to Gary Branson, Executive Director, Marion Public Library, 445 E Church Street, Marion, Ohio 43302, by February 8, 2013.

The Marion Public Library is a city school district library under the direction of a seven member Board of Trustees which is responsible for the Library’s finances and for the formulation of its policies. Each member is appointed for a seven year term by the Marion City Board of Education; members may be reappointed. One term expires each year.
Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Library’s Boardroom. Meetings are open to the public.
