John P. “Jack” Cooperider, 76, of rural Richwood

John P. "Jack" CooperiderJohn P. “Jack” Cooperider, age 76 of rural Richwood, died Sunday morning, February 3, 2013 at Marion General Hospital. He was born July 13, 1936 in Delaware to the late William A. and Mary Pauline (Davis) Cooperider.

On June 17, 1956 he married the love of his life, the former Susie Dildine in the West Jefferson Baptist Church and she survives.

He was a line foreman for Ohio Edison, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Green Camp Baptist Church. An avid motorcyclist, his hobbies included hunting, tinkering in his shop and golfing. Jack loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and was a wonderful father and husband. He was a great prankster and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Karen (Rob) Cameron, Helena, Montana and children, Andrea and Ross Cameron; Phyllis (Mark) Roberts, Blacklick and children, Cyndi (Tom) Ross, Chrisy (Mike) Visconti and B. J. (Jennifer) Griffith; Judy (Jim) Gray, Richwood and children, Betsy (Tony) Baer, Casey (Lucas) Daum and Mike Gray; a son-in-law, Doug (Denise) Norton, and children, Dani, Taylor and Phillip Norton; a brother, Bill (Marlene) Cooperider, Delaware; a sister, Marylou Cain, Delaware.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kellie Norton; three sisters, Jane Courter, Margie Hartley and Bernice Turney.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastors Rob Cameron and Judy Cramer officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Friday.
