Robert Lee Massey age 87 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born June 29, 1925 in Seth, W. Va. to the late Chester Arthur and Laura Pearl (Massie) Massey.
On August 8, 1976 in Troy, Ohio, he married Linda Baladen and she survives.
Robert was a retired self-employed contractor for some 45 years. He also was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Robert also leaves behind two daughters and a son; Jennifer Lynn Organ of Marion, Tammy Lee Surbaugh of W.Va., John Robert Massey of Dayton, Ohio; two grandsons, Ty Organ and Phillip Massey, and a great-granddaughter, Emma Kara Organ. A sister and a brother also survive; Pat Deickert of Marion and Emmett (Madeline) Massey of W.Va.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two daughters and a son; Pamela Sue Massey, Connie Massey and Michael Lee Massey, a grandson Michael Massey, and two sisters and four brothers; Mildred Crabtree, Margie Massey, Harry, Claude, Kermit, and Kenneth Massey.
Funeral Services will be on Friday February 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Dan Kiger. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday February 7, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M.
