(Minnie) Garnet Hochstetter, 100, went to be with her Lord and Savior February 20, 2013 at home in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Garnet was born November 10, 1912, the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertie (Werner) Daniels, in Marion, Ohio.
She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to set out flowers on her porch for the summer months. Garnet was retired from Jerry’s Fabrics and Frank Brothers Department Store in Marion, Ohio.
She met the Lord at an early age and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio. She later belonged to Wesley Methodist Church in Marion, Ohio. In Orangeburg she attended Cornerstone Community Church.
She was a wonderful mother and outstanding grandmother.
Garnet was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Franklin Hochstetter; two sons, Philip Dale Dudley and Frederick William Hochstetter; two brothers, Arthur Daniels and Maurice Daniels and one sister-in-law, Ruby Daniels. Garnet leaves to cherish her precious memories to her daughter and caregiver, Cheryl (Alan) Ivers of Orangeburg; two granddaughters, Michelle Shroats of Marion, Ohio and Debbie (Jeff) Good of Prospect, Ohio; two grandsons, Michael Brady and David Ivers of Orangeburg; two nieces, Linda (Mel) Gordy of Homosassa, Florida, LeeAnn (Ted) Denman of Edgewood, Kentucky; two nephews, Daniel (Chrissy) Daniels of Washington Court House, Ohio, and John (Kasey) Hochstetter of Marion, Ohio; Step-daughter, Barbara (Pearly) Wilson of Sarasota, Fla; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; life-time special friends, Patsy Krider of Marion, Ohio, Nancy (George) Ambrose of Melbourne, Fla. and Richard (Aggie) Heckman of Maumee, Ohio.
Funeral Services for Garnet will be Monday February 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Hoffman. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 P.M.
