Thomas R. Rowe, 88, of Kirkpatrick

Thomas R. Rowe age 88 of Kirkpatrick, passed away Friday morning , February 21st 2013 in the same home he was born in on March 8th, 1924.

He was the son of the late Hiram O. & Pebble L. (Bush) Rowe.

He was a graduate of Kirkpatrick High School.

Tom began driving truck when he was fifteen and went on to own his own on Trucking Company. He was a noted welder and would go out of his way to help a friend who needed repairs.

He was also an avid sportsman. In his earlier years he enjoyed ice and roller skating, Bowling, snow and water skiing and cross-country bicycling. Tom was also a man of faith. He was baptized May 2, 1945 in the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ. He always carried a New Testament in his shirt pocket and had the handle “Preacher man” back in the CB radio days.

After his days on the driving over the road Tom continued to help out his neighbors by hauling water to homes around Kirkpatrick and Caledonia. Tom was always a caring man. He and Marian were Foster parents for over twenty five years and he was instrumental in establishing the Food Pantry in Kirkpatrick.

On March 25th, 1946 Tom married the love of his life, the former Marian Bush. She survives him at home. He is also survived by his two sons, Steven (Vickie) Rowe of Morral and Richard (Karla) Rowe of Ashland. He also leaves his daughters, Sharon (Harold) Powell of Bucyrus and Diane (Curtis) Henry of Van Buren, IN. Twelve grandchildren, Twenty Four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was the last of a family of seven boys and two girls.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Thomas R. Rowe will be conducted in the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ at 2:00 P. M. Saturday March 2nd, 2013 with Donald Kelly officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday where the family will greet them for one hour prior to the service. The Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
