103 Marionites and former Marion residents attended the 64th annual Marion County Florida Reunion on Saturday, February 16, 2013. The reunion included a short program at Duff’s Original Buffet in Bradenton, FL., followed by the invocation by John Steward, lunch, conversation, and monetary door prizes.
The program, conducted by the Mistress of Ceremony, Mary Gruber, included a tribute to Marion’s own Mary Ellen Withrow, the former Secretary of Treasurer under the Clinton administration. A $2 bill signed by Mary Ellen was won by Darlene Goad (pictured).
A drawing was held for a stepping stone that was made by John Steward. John has made many OSU stepping stones for the group and the giveaway is always popular. This year LeRoy Waddell was the lucky winner.
