Virginia L. Diehl age 88 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born September 29, 1924 in Marion, Ohio to the late Samuel L. and Maude M. (Wise) Bond.
On September 23, 1945 she married John Miller Diehl, he preceded her in death on August 30, 2011.
Virginia was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the sorority Lambda Chi Omega, which still met monthly.
She was very active over the years in volunteering at gift shop at Marion General Hospital, den mother for cub scouts, school lunch room when her kids were in school. She was employed over the years at Savings of America Bank as a teller and in retail at Walmart and JC Penny’s.
She is survived by her children, Sarah (David) Hwathorne of Lodi, Oh., Bruve (Rosalie) Diehl of Marion, Oh., a grandson, Jason Diehl of Marion, Oh., two great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Kaydence.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Samuel Bond.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 @ 1PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church with AIM Kevin Kehn officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
