Fahey Bank has announced the February Athletes of the Month for 2013 are Ashleigh Lindsey of Harding and Kyle Hall of Elgin.
Ashleigh Lindsey is a freshman gymnast for Harding. Ashleigh won the All Around competition at the Northwest District Meet on February 22, 2013. At this meet she competed against 92 other athletes and also claimed individual second place finishes on Bars, Beam, Floor, and Vault. This win sent Ashleigh to the State Gymnastics meet in which she represented Marion Harding. At the state meet Ashleigh’s best performance came on the Floor exercise in which she finished 6th in the state.
Honorable Mentions were Cassie Hosp of Pleasant, Jace Wolf of Elgin, Whitney Marshall of Ridgedale, Kendall Stuckman of River Valley, and Paxton Flugga of Marion Catholic.
Kyle Hall, of Elgin, is the Male Athlete of the Month and first team All-Ohio as a bowler. Kyle, a junior, set a school record for a 2 game series on February 11, 2013 when he bowled games of 265 and 279 for a total of 544. Kyle then won the Sectional meet along the way to the State competition. At the state meet, Kyle bowled his best game of the season with a 288. This was the 2nd highest single game score in the history of the state bowling tournament.
Honorable Mentions were Kyle Mathey of River Valley, Alex Anderson of Ridgedale, Trey Kinney of Marion Harding, Zane Burris of Pleasant, and Zach Langley-Maddy of Marion Catholic.
