River Valley Pair Named Athletes of the Month

River ValleyRiver Valley’s Courtney Rengert, a softball ace, and Ethan Douglas, a sprinter, have been named the Fahey Bank Athletes of the Month for April 2013.

This is Courtney Rengert’s third win of the Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month program. Courtney is a senior softball player for the Lady Vikings. She had led the team to an 18-0 mark for April. Courtney is a pitcher with a record of 16-0 and an ERA of 1.09. She has struck out 87 batters in her 95 innings pitched. Courtney had no errors for the month of April. Courtney has also had success at the plate, batting .492.

Honorable Mentions were Kendall Queen of Pleasant, Jess Cornelius of Elgin, Hannah Ratterman of Ridgedale, Lexi Northrop of Marion Harding, and Emily Aurigemma of Marion Catholic.

Ethan Douglas is the Fahey Bank Male Athlete of the Month for April. Ethan, a junior, is a sprinter for River Valley. Ethan completed a great month of April with a 10.7 second run of the 100 meter dash, a new River Valley record. Ethan was part of 13 first place finishes for the team in April. Wins included the 100 meter dash, 400 meter relay, 800 meter relay, and the Sprint Medley.

Honorable Mentions were C.J. Flach of Elgin, Kyle Galyk of Pleasant, Ty Endsley of Marion Harding, Tate Morgan of Marion Catholic, and Chance Britton of Ridgedale.
