Glorene Y. Drown, 99, of Prospect

Glorene Y. DrownGlorene Y. Drown age 99 of Prospect, died early Saturday morning May 11, 2013 at the Community Health Care Center in Marion.

She was born September 12, 1913 in Marion to the late George Washington and Gera (Cowan) Griffiths, she was also predeceased by her husband Suel E. Drown, whom she married January 26, 1935 in Marion, he died July 26, 1973. Three sisters: Lillian Sheterley, Dorothy Hoagland and Betty Post, one brother: George E. Griffiths and 2 grandsons also preceded her.

Surviving are her children: Jean L. January of Prospect, Charles (Barbara) Drown of Longview, Texas, JoAnn (Eugene) Pendleton of Prospect and James E. (Randy Reeder) Drown of Arlington, Texas; one sister: Mary Alice Seiter of Michigan.
Ten Grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and 44 great great grandchildren

Glorene was a homemaker, member of the Prospect Senior Citizens, where she was the last surviving charter member, member of the Prospect U.M. Church, she was an accomplished seamstress and in her younger days had worked as a hairdresser. Glorene was an avid reader, loved having company and enjoyed a good laugh.
But the center of her life was her family, whom she was devoted to.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect, Pastor Carolyn Christman will officiate, burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.
