Paul A. Bell age 83 of Marion passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013 at his residence. Born February 11, 1930 in Plankton, Ohio to Frank and Lucille (Gregg) Bell, the third child of 12.
He graduated from Sycamore High School (Mohawk) in 1948. After high school he worked in Tiffin.
In 1950 he entered the U.S. Navy serving in the Mediterranean Sea area. Serving aboard several destroyer escorts, and destroyers.
On August 29, 1951 he married Betty (Buxton) in Waldo. To this marriage three sons were born Jeffrey, Craig, and Bradley, and a stillborn daughter Robin.
He is survived by his Wife Betty and sons Jeffrey (Sue) Bell of Bucyrus, Craig Bell of Marion, And Bradley (Susan) Bell of Marion. Four grandchildren Shellie (Doug) Payson of China Grove, North Carolina, Scott (Kristina) Bell of Marion, Emily Bell of Marion, and Eric Bell of Marion. Three great grandchildren Bryana, Alyxis, and Braydon all of Marion. Brothers and sisters Charles Bell of Marysville. OH, Mary Etta Hemerly of Bowling Green, OH., Robert (Luis) Bell of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Lewis (Sylvia) Bell of Sycamore, OH., John (Kay) Bell of Sycamore, OH., Enza Fadley of Republic, OH., Lester (Beulah) Bell of Sycamore, OH.,Lyn (Irene) Bell of Van Wert, OH., Lyle (Shelia) Bell of Littleton, CO., Sue (Duane) Durbin of Myrtle Beach, NC., and Michael (Sue) Bell of Columbus, OH. And special friend of the immediate family Nancy Kerns.
After Paul’s discharge from the Navy he was employed by Omar Bakery company delivering bread and sweets to the rural area around Sidney, OH. Leaving the bread company he was employed by Whirlpool Corp. in Marion. Retiring in 1987.
They wintered in South Padre Island, Texas for 13 years. Making many long lasting friends of today. After staying at home he was employed by Lowes in Marion selling appliances.
Paul held memberships in many organizations, VFW, Knights of Columbus, was Past Patron of Lydia Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Past High Priest of Marion Chapter, Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #32, and the American legion 584.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M Saturday May 18, 2013 at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church 130 Orton Street in Marion with Rev. Dustin Hornbeck Officiating.
